Fistula Foundation is proud to have been named a Sustaining Program (2015-17) of Dining for Women, a non-profit giving circle dedicated to empowering women and girls living in extreme poverty. Every month, in communities around the world, chapters of Dining for Women gather to share a meal and learn about issues impacting the lives of women and girls. The donations collected at these events are given to Featured programs that the Dining for Women program selection committee has vetted through a strenuous process, involving stringent selection criteria.
Fistula Foundation is a former featured program, featured in September 2011. The Foundation was invited to submit a Sustained Grant proposal to DFW vetted through a strenuous process, involving stringent selection criteria. As a Sustaining Program for the month of October 2015-2017, Fistula Foundation will receive $20,000 each year for a total of $60,000 from Dining for Women that will be used to provide life-changing surgeries to women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea and South Sudan.
Dining for Women has been a long-standing friend of Fistula Foundation, having also funded our work through previous grants in 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2011 for a combined $72,237 to date. By the time our newest partnership sunsets in 2017, the organization will have granted an incredible $132, 237 in funding that will have changed many women’s lives forever.
We are very grateful for their support, and encourage anyone who has an interest in camaraderie, food, and in helping to make life better for women and girls around the world to find a Dining for Women chapter in your community – or, start your own! Learn more at www.diningforwomen.org.
